Gas Hose Looks Good? It May Not Be Safe - 3 Critical Checks

However, Kemenperin also recommends that gas hoses can be replaced sooner if they show signs of damage or are used in frequently-used conditions, such as gas hoses for commercial purposes.

Signs of Damaged Gas Hoses

The condition of gas hoses, which are often placed in rarely-touched areas, causes many people to be unaware of whether their gas hoses are still in good condition or need replacement. Here are some guidelines that can be used to determine whether a gas hose needs replacement:

• Cracked or brittle surface: If your gas hose is already hard or shows cracking when pressed, it's time to replace it

• Gas odor around the hose: This damage indicates that the gas hose must be replaced immediately

• Loose clamp locks: If left unchecked, this sign can cause gas leakage in the hose

If the gas hose in your kitchen already shows one of the three signs mentioned, it is recommended to immediately replace the gas hose. Especially if it's already emitting a gas odor from the hose, it's time to replace the gas hose as soon as possible.

Choose Quality Gas Hoses

If you already know the condition of the gas hose that needs replacement and want to buy a new gas hose, make sure to also follow these guidelines to avoid choosing the wrong gas hose:

• Ensure the gas hose used has SNI certification

• Choose a gas hose with 2 to 3 layers

• Use a gas hose that is elastic and flexible

• If clamps are provided, use clamps on each end of the hose
